We are currently looking for a Host for VOCM Open Line to join our NL Programming team!
VOCM Open Line is iconic in Newfoundland and Labrador, a place where voices are heard and issues are faced head on. Open Line is the voice of Newfoundlanders and Labradoreans, it’s our conversation. If you are a thought-provoking, conversational, and engaged individual with a real passion for this place, we want to hear from you!
What You’ll Do
- Host Newfoundland and Labrador’s iconic VOCM Open Line show
- Engage callers on current affairs, local issues, and breaking news
- Research topics, prep interviews, and shape daily show content
- Maintain a professional, respectful, and engaging on-air tone
- Collaborate with the VOCM newsroom and programming staff
- Represent VOCM in the community
- Others duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- Strong presence on-air and off-air , and clear, confident communication
- Solid understanding of Newfoundland & Labrador issues and communities from St. John’s, Newfoundland to Nain, Labrador
- Ability to think quickly and manage live, unscripted conversations
- Journalism, broadcasting, or equivalent experience
- Comfort handling controversial topics with balance and professionalism
- Proven social media experience, including posting, monitoring, and audience engagement

We are currently looking for a Programming and Promotions Coordinator to join our NL Programming team!
Are you passionate about radio and connecting with an audience? Are you incredibly organized and happy to oversee many projects at once? Stingray Radio NL has a rare opportunity for someone who knows how to have fun and can represent our brands in an energetic, responsible, and professional manner both on and off the air. The successful candidate will perform a variety of tasks for HOT 99.1 and other Stingray NL Stations
What You’ll Do
- Music scheduling, log editing, and uploading of programming as required for HOT 991
- Daily programming support
- Create, maintain, and manage social and digital content
- Support listener contests, databases, and station promotions
- Manage prize inventory and winner fulfillment process
- Coordinate and support station remotes and events
- On-air and voice-tracking fill-in when required
- Attend and actively participate in weekly meetings and station planning.
- Weekly production tasks
- Support remote broadcasts as required for any Newfoundland Stingray station.
- Perform other duties as assigned
What We’re Looking For
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
- Detail oriented
- Strong writing and oral presentation skills
- A strong understanding of promotions and brand representation
- Awareness that radio is a 24/7 medium and willingness to step up outside of the 9-5
- Proven social media experience, including posting, monitoring, and audience engagement
- Previous experience working in radio, including on-air experience an asset
- General knowledge of Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, and audio editing software
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license
